David is the founder of CornerSunDestination Marketing. He is also an Executive Board Member of theAssociation for the Promotion of Tourism to Africa (APTA) and a member of the Associate Member Advisory Committee of the United States Tour Operators Association (USTOA).
Since the coronavirus crisis began earlier this year, David has worked closely with the tourism boards of Norway, Kenya, Uganda, Malawi, Guyana and Seychelles to craft their recovery and repositioning strategies and make sure they are both staying top of mind amongst the travel trade while travel is not possible, and ready to welcome visitors upon reopening.
Previously, David was Head of Marketing for South African Tourism in North America. David holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Boston University and a Masters in Commerce from the University of Sydney in Australia. His work has been awarded with seven Travel Weekly Magellan Awards and four HSMAI Adrian Awards. His other international experience includes consulting for the wine industry in France, managing media relations during the Beijing Olympic Games in China and reporting for the Sochi 2014 Olympic News Service in Russia. He has lived on three continents, has explored over 100 countries and loves to travel with his wife and young daughters.
